The PGD (PGS) within surrogacy at Biotexcom

The PGD and PGS are technologies aimed to screen embryos for any possible abnormalities. They guarantee the good health of your future baby. We perform it within Biotexcom facilities.

The PGD (PGS) – Pre-Implantation Genetic Screening

It is a comprehensive chromosome screening. The goal is to reveal a potential abnormality in an embryo’s chromosomal configuration (extra copies of chromosomes and missing ones) that may cause a specific syndrome, for example:

Down syndrome, Edwards syndrome, Patau syndrome, Turner syndrome, Klinefelter syndrome

The PGD (PGS) is a part of all our surrogacy packages.

The PGD – Pre-Implantation Genetic Screening for gender detecting

It is a part of our Standard plus package (for two attempts) and VIP package. We conduct this additional testing if a couple has a strong wish to have a boy only or a girl only.

Depending on its type, the Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD/PGS) will be done either on the 3rd or the 5th day of embryo development. After PGD some embryos might be disposed of due to chromosomal abnormalities, up to 3 embryos (depending on their quality and your preferences) will be transferred to the uterus.
